White collar slavery

The elections are right around the next corner and the media has done a good job of lieing to everyone and splitting the nation in half. Instead of voting for the most important issues (like the economy?) we've chosen to focus on every SINGLE other topic and further divide the line. And in the process solidifying the notion that we are either left, right, or neutral. There's probably a thousand times more moderates or middle people than say so.

Now that that's said, this post is about Politically Correct and the racism machine. Understand now that I'm not insulting blacks or any other minority. I am instead trying to free them.

I recently read up on the Civil War. You should know that more Americans died in that war than any other war (to be clear, combined the number is greater). And it should also be apparent that at the base of it the Civil War was a war that started from politics. It is also note worthy that for the first half of the war the North was fighting for unity of the nation, not to end slavery. That changed with the Emancipation Proclamation.

Now then, realize that, as wrong as slavery is, realize that the slaves were provided for. They were fed and sheltered to ensure their survival. In return they worked in the fields. The food and shelter was probably the bare minimum, though it also depended on the owner. And of course the work was long and hard.

Now let's look at today, but lets expand the people of interest to minorities and some (not all) people receiving government aid in the form of shelter and food stamps (excluding shelter and food in the form of tornado aid, etc). They are sometimes provided garbage shelter because it's all they can afford, they receive garbage government sponsored education which does not work as well as you think it does. And on top of everything they are told that only we care about you, so vote for us.

Pile on that tons and tons of racism charges against the other side (I think by now you know who's who) and they become convinced that this party is the only party worth voting for. Their failed policies make it hard to survive without government aid, and the only thing they pay attention to is that the other side wants to get rid of their government aid. Because that's one of the only things that affects them personally.

Seeing the chains? Seeing the lies? The, "vote for me and you'll never go hungry" where in the punchline is they'll never prosper either. Wake up America

"Propaganda to share"

*sigh*

Sorry for all the political talk. It appears that this is the only medium where I can at least have the impression I'm having legitimate political discourse without all the bullshit.

Screencap. Because I respect the person immensely more than I respect their views, their identity has been censored in the familiar color coded censoring to tell you that it's the same person posting. Also, the link is to a Chris Rock tweet saying "If you vote against Obama because he can't get stuff done, it's kinda like saying, "this guy can't cure cancer. I'm gonna vote for cancer." And now the screencap:

And in that moment, it hit me, propaganda to share. I began thinking deeply on what is classified as propaganda. And I came to the conclusion that it means a political statement that is painted in black and white. And it covers everything. Every major speech to every minor picture posted on facebook. If it has no room for gray, it's propaganda. I often find myself fighting with my friends. If I lived annually on the number of intelligent political conversations I have with another and times it by a thousand dollars for each one: I'd still be living in poverty. No matter how much I like it, no matter how much it disgusts me. No matter if it's "Obama is a communist" (which I like) or if it's "Glenn Beck is a Nazi" (which I detest), it's propaganda. It lies without even trying to be truthful. And then when I'm having political discourse with a liberal friend. My reason becomes clouded to them because they're caught up on "Mitt is a greedy fat cat" and vice versa, they wouldn't be able to talk about viable energy solutions because I'd be caught up on "tree huggers like to waste taxpayer dollars". And if it were to be a conversation, not just a speech, then the replies would be centered around those things. And then at the end all they have and all we have is propaganda to share.

And then I get replies like this saying "Honestly, I don't care" and I lose all hope for humanity...

Music, pictures, and college

I like this photo of me taken last year

And now Naka Kon photos.
Feels weird, but good. Even though Malcolm Reynolds is not anime I still found plenty of fans and even Kaylee, who disappeared for all of the next day. I just happened to find her on the next day, the last. Anyway, feels good man. I am nothing special, I've done hardly anything worth applause, but the whole concept of simply putting on a costume, dressing like someone else, and then having person after person ask for a photo of you, it's....very welcome. I felt like a celebrity. All the good fame without any of the drama, felt good man.

My tuxedo complimented my costume in that it was also Malcolm Reynolds, from the gold vest to the red tie. Which made it all the better when I found Kaylee dressed up in the fluffy dress from the Shindig episode.

It was a masquerade, a formal ball. And I say, they did a very good job. I polished up my waltz (after learning how to from youtube). And.....it makes me sad....All the dances I've been to before....middle school dances....high school homecoming, winter, homecoming in the spring, and even prom...just.....The formal ball was designed to be a social event, because, if you remember your history, formal dances back then were social events as well. See a pretty lady? Ask her to dance. And then courtesy her, and move on. Today's high school dances and proms.....make me sad. The procedure with them is you find a date, cause if you don't you're stuck with your charms (if you have any) to work up the courage to ask someone that knows exactly who you are and what kind of a reputation you have, and if they have a date then you can kiss that possibility goodbye.

And when you do dance it's one of 5 ways. 1: Slow dances (my personal favorite before Naka kon) but they are simply hold onto your partner intimately or awkwardly (there is no middle ground) and spin in a circle forever, yeah, not much happening. 2: grinding or any other dance meant purely for sexual appeal (or just sex with clothes on) They have appeal, but little intimacy/romance, the kind of dance commonly characterized with a one-night-stand. Where Slow dancing has too much romance which means you either dance awkwardly with a stranger or dance romantically with your date (and no one else coincidentally). 3: Boring side to side dancing that you do when you're also having a conversation, most commonly with a literal circle of friends and acquaintances. 4: Wild dancing that only hyper, drunk, or mentally challenged individuals do for whatever reasons. and 5: Routine dances: self explanatory, Cupid Shuffle, Soulja boy, line dancing, etc. The kind of dances that make you think you're good at dancing when you're really just good at following instructions and rhythm.

The formal masquerade that I attended on the other hand, was built to be a social event. Everything from the masks to the checklist to the roses. The masks obviously (should) make you anonymous, and so long as you can impress them with a blank slate, you'll be just fine. A little checklist and pens were handed out to each guest, the items on the checklist included: dance with someone with feathers in their mask, complete a formal turn (dance move), let your partner take the lead, you take the lead, etc, where they would put their signature in there. And then later on, roses were handed out, and the goal was to dance with someone that doesn't have a rose and then give them your rose.
Even the dance style is perfect for strangers keeping the ideal level of romance without too much. Waltz is a very formal kind of dance. Hand clasping, and relatively easy steps that look impressive when done smoothly and correctly. Wouldn't ever be able to say that about slow dancing.

It should come to no surprise that I was the guy that went to homecoming dances and prom and danced with no more than 3 people, most likely only 1, maybe even 2, but no stranger or....cute girls #^_^#
However, at that formal masquerade, with sophisticated romantic music, dim lights, and the perfect atmosphere....I lost count of how many ladies I danced with, somewhere around 20-30. There were even some cute girls that I danced with that were noticeably shy....SHY!!!.....normally IM SHY, not the other way around!!! If I was single I would've pursued 4 or 5 of them for something besides just a dance partner. But I did not want to play with their heart, just help give them a night to remember.

After all that, all I can say is "I want to forever waltz"

Finally, some pictures, did not expect to go on about dancing.
Me and Kaylee, I chose the mask because it blended well with the gold vest and red tie.
was not ready for a picture
I'm bad at posing, my gun looks like it's pointed at her, but that is Zoey, also from Firefly
I'm walking along and I see a familiar face (one that I had not seen since the dance) maybe I had seen her in the vending room before this photo, maybe. Anyway I'm walking along and I see a familiar face in a most appealing position, a legs apart crouching stance that shows off her legs
I'm also bad at cross references (the smiling when I'm supposed to be threatening). Basically, Nathan Filion that plays Captain Reynolds is also Captain Hammer and that is Dr. Horrible. And I'm guessing it's iconic for Dr. Horrible to run into bad luck. But a friend off camera tells me to "menace him" and I'm confused saying "wha? menace? how?....I have a gun? is that what you want?" So I decide to grab him by his jacket
Me, Zoey, and Kaylee who is now an assassin from Marvel that I don't recognize
Favorite picture of me

Music, I completed my CD, but meh, I've compiled a list of songs into a youtube playlist. Go check it out, about two third of them are not the usual artists

Link to Playlist

In other news, I've been busy with college. I'm buried catching up in one particular class. And I feel awkward spending that much time with Naka kon and this one sentence about college. I suppose that's good enough for a blog.

Update on my life

Since I was so very politely asked to update this thing. I will. Umm.....

hmm...Ah! Here is an updated list of my cd mix in progress. Have not yet made it into a cd, I want at least 16 songs.
Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada
Desert Rain by Edward Maya
Icarus from Deus Ex Human Revolution Soundtrack
Interstellar by Groove Addicts
Heart of Courage by Two Steps From Hell
I Don't Want This Night To End by Luke Bryan
It's My Life by Bon Jovi
Knee Deep by Zac Brown Band
Savin' Me by Nickelback
Serenata by Immediate Music
The Normandy Reborn from Mass Effect 2 soundtrack
United We Stand Divided We Fall by Two Steps From Hell
Hallelujah the Watchmen version

Not as many as I want, which is why I want suggestions on what I should add. Keep in mind that just because you suggest it, does not mean that I have to add it.
Also I will be attending Naka Kon (anime convention) in Kansas City on Feb 10-12. I will be cosplaying as Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly. Reasons are Nathan Fillion is one of my favorite actors once I discovered Firefly.
This is my goal:

Music

So...here is youtube videos of awesome songs from Two Steps From Hell and other artists that get my adrenaline and emotions running. Planning on making a new mix CD with songs that I can tolerate (and still love) time and time again. My first CD, half of the songs are good but...listening to them again and again...no. Whenever I make a music video I put so much effort into every single phrase and beat of the song that I listen the same 3 seconds of a song 20 times to get it just right. At the end of it I just do not want to hear it again. I become sick of it. So part of the reason for this entry is to collect my music in one place. The other reason is to share with other people that like symphonic pieces like me.

fast tempo, beautiful energetic song

slow, powerful song

slow, dark, powerful piece

not my usual, but, if you give it a chance, can be very relaxing.

emotionally charged music

Hello friends

I'm going to give this a try, maybe I'll use it often. I doubt it though. But it's better than simply checking up on people (Jessie) without them ever knowing I visited. My life has been day to day. Going from football game to football game and all the homework inbetween. A group I made on a MMO game is suffering because of my real life commitments. So I figure if I can never find the time to come to TC whenever you all might be on. Then I'll just communicate through this bulletin board style communication. It is so because I'm not sending this to any one person, but I am hoping that a certain few would read this.

And far as what to put here.....hell if I know. Maybe I'll use this for rants about the political sphere of America. Maybe I'll use it for new developments that catch my eye. Basically this will be a blog of me, my life, my interests, my hopes and my fears.

Because I can, some photos that I have come across in my days of searching the web in recent times.
Marching band, my only real job, $500 per fall semester :D
